The Anne Arundel Bird Club, organized in 1954, is one of 15 chapters of the Maryland Ornithological Society (MOS) which is dedicated to the protection and conservation of birdlife and other natural resources. AABC hosts monthly meetings, numerous field trips, lectures and other activities throughout the year.
From October through May (except March) the AABC meets on the first Friday of the month at 8 pm. These meetings feature an illustrated nature program by qualified professional and amateur speakers. Our meeting place is Arlington Education Center, 975 Indian Landing Road, Millersville, Md 21108. In March, we meet on the first Thursday for our annual Richard E. Heise, Jr. Wildlife Program to benefit MOS programs. In September and June we have a potluck picnic at which much socializing and overeating take place! We sponsor a variety of trips to give field experience for all levels of bird watching skills. These trips are planned to different habitats so that there is the opportunity to see a good variety of birds. Novice birders and juniors are encouraged to participate on all trips.
Some of our members sponsor kayaking/birding trips; and some sponsor so-called "Maniac" trips. Contact us for further information on these events.
