![]() The Maryland Ornithological Society (MOS) sponsors a World Series Team - The Yellowthroats. (captain)Jim Brighton, Zach Baer, Bill Hubick, and Mikey Lutmerding make up the sensational team of birders who are once again competing in the World Series of Birding. The team will be participating in the Cape May County event, ticking as many species as possible from midnight to midnight on May 10th of 2008. MdBirds.org recently interviewed Matt Hafner, last year's captain of the Yellowthroats. At the end of the interview is some interesting information about Centreville Middle School, which has been sending teams to the WSB competition since 2000 -- go to interview. Please consider a pledge in support of our team. You can pledge some amount per species seen, such as 50 cents, a dollar, or any other amount that you can afford. This year you can make you pledge by going to sending an e-mail to Jim Brighton. Just state how much you would like to pledge. For additional information on the World Series of Birding, which is sponsored by New Jersey Audubon, check their web site. |
