Many MOS members are avid county listers. That is, they keep track of species seen in each Maryland County. County Bird Lists were first available in the Field List of the Birds of Maryland (Iliff, Ringler and Stasz; 1996). In the last few years, many new species have been recorded, and revised county lists are now presented online.

An updated (January 2003) copy of the county listings can be downloaded in Microsoft Excel (.xls) zip form for faster downloading. Download the file by clicking on the link below. Then extract it using your own decompression software, and open it in a spreadsheet program that will open Microsoft Excel files. Most of the major spreadsheet programs will be able to read the file.
