The Park is located at the eastern terminus of Fort Smallwood Road in northeastern Anne Arundel County. From Route 100 east, exit left onto Route 607. Two lights later turn right onto Route 173, Fort Smallwood Road, and follow the road to its end (about 3 miles). Beyond the gatehouse, bear left onto the loop road, and where the road comes to a "T", turn right and park in the lot to the right of the fort. The favored spot for raptor observation is about midway down the east-facing shoreline. Proceed about 200 yards south on the path past the buildings on the right, stopping where the view broadens across the pond. The Park, now under the management of Anne Arundel County, is open daily from 7 am to sunset, except on Wednesdays, when it is closed. The entry fee is $5 per vehicle. An annual vehicle pass may be purchased for $25 and individuals aged 60 or older may purchase a lifetime pass for $30 per person. These passes may also be used at Quiet Waters Park, Downs Park, and Kinder Park. Contact the compiler, Sue Ricciardi, at 410-647-9513 or email@example.com if you have questions.
